The story of the Armoy Armada is proving to be a popular feature in the new exhibition "Where Motorcycling Reigns" which is currently on display at Ballymoney Museum, Co. Antrim. Visitors have the rare opportunity to see bikes, leathers, helmets, trophies and other memorabilia associated with the famous north antrim motorcycling heroes and the exhibits are complimented with a breathtaking display of archive photographs and film footage. The exhibition also includes a tribute to the late Robert Dunlop and a commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the North West 200.
The museum recently re-opened after a £400,000 re-fit, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, and this is the first display in the new galleries. Since 11 May, nearly 5,000 people have visited the exhibition, often combining it with a visit to the nearby Joey Dunlop Memorial Garden and some refreshments in 'Joey's Bar'.
"Where motorcycling reigns" closes on 29 August 2009. Admission is free.
